Welcome to I Am There

Empowering Communities, Supporting the Vulnerable, and Making a Difference

At I Am There, we are more than just a service, we are a community of individuals with many years lived experience and work experience, supporting people who left home early without a family system to depend on (Kinship care leavers), young people who are currently facing homelessness and those who have aged our of the care system (care leavers) with advice and referrals

Our personal journeys and understanding of life's challenges drive us to support the most vulnerable and marginalised members of society. We work to enhance their well-being by offering practical advice, emotional support, and connecting them with vital services.

Our mission is to support those who often fly under the radar, ensuring they receive the help, understanding, and opportunities they deserve. With a future vision of providing accommodation for young people facing homelessness, and those who left home at an early age to live with family, friends or alone, we are working toward a brighter future—together.

🌿 Kinship Care🌿

    What is Kinship Care?

Kinship care is when a child is raised by relatives or close family friends—rather than their biological parents—due to circumstances such as parental illness, substance misuse, incarceration, or other challenges. This might include grandparents, aunts and uncles, older siblings, or even close family friends stepping in to provide love, safety and stability.

Unlike traditional care settings, kinship care often happens informally and without the same support or recognition, even though the emotional impact on young people can be just as significant.
