As a values-driven organisation, we understand the importance of strong leadership and the guidance of a dedicated Board of Trustees.
We are currently looking for passionate, committed, and experienced individuals to join our Board of Trustees. As a trustee, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring its sustainability, and helping us make a lasting impact on the lives of those we support.
What is the Role of a Trustee?
The Board of Trustees is the Governing Body of "I Am There" and is responsible for the overall direction of the organisation. Trustees work alongside the executive team to ensure that I Am There fulfils its mission, achieves its objectives, and remains accountable to the people we serve.
As a trustee, you will:
Provide Strategic Oversight:
Help shape and oversee the organisation’s long-term strategy, ensuring that our mission and values are upheld.
Support Organisational Growth:
Offer your expertise and guidance to support the development of programs and initiatives that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
Ensure Financial Sustainability:
Oversee the financial health of I Am There, ensuring the organisation is operating efficiently and effectively, and that resources are being used appropriately.
Advocate for Change:
Help raise awareness of the issues faced by the young people we support, advocating for social change and positive outcomes in the community.
Uphold Governance Standards:
Ensure the organisation complies with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, maintaining transparency and accountability at all levels.
Trustees are collectively responsible for making decisions in the best interest of the organisation, its stakeholders, and those we serve.

Who Are We Looking For?
Trustee Responsibilities
Attend Board Meetings:
Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings and participate in sub-committee meetings (if applicable). Meetings are typically held in person or virtually.
Contribute to Strategy and Decision-Making:
Engage in discussions and provide input on the strategic direction and key decisions for the organisation.
Ensure Compliance:
Oversee the organization’s operations and ensure we are adhering to our mission, financial obligations, and governance responsibilities.
Support Fundraising Efforts:
Assist with fundraising initiatives, provide connections and resources, and raise awareness of I Am There in the community.
Be a Champion for the Organisation:
Advocate for I Am There, spreading the word about our mission, engaging with stakeholders, and representing the organisation at key events and meetings.

Interview Process:
If we feel you would be a good fit, we will invite you for an informal interview. This is a chance for us to discuss the role further and for you to ask questions about the work of I Am There.
Board Appointment:
Following the interview, the board will review applications and make a decision on appointments. Trustees are appointed strive to ensure diversity and complementary skills within the board.
Time Commitment
Board Meetings:
Typically, 4-6 meetings per year (2-3 hours each) are held either in person or virtually.
Sub-Committee Work:
Additional time may be required for participation in sub-committees or working groups, depending on your area of expertise.
Events and Fundraising:
Attending events or participating in fundraising initiatives as needed.
